Dr.Veer maharaj Bhadraanandji has expressed strong support for the Munambam residents’ land struggle. Facing eviction threats, nearly 600 families in Munambam have been demanding the restoration of their land rights through protest since 2021. Bhadraanandji emphasized that this is a human issue, not a divine matter, and announced that a petition would be submitted to the Prime Minister, calling for immediate intervention.
Munambam is a human issue, not a divine one, Veer maharaj Bhadraanandji stated, arguing against using any deity’s name to create conflicts. He elaborated, “Heaven belongs to the divine, the underworld to demons, the water world to ancestors, and the earth to humankind. Why should conflicts arise in the name of a specific religion’s deity?” He expressed that selfish individuals often misuse religion to create societal problems. “God desires humanity’s peace, harmony, and happiness, not suffering, turmoil, or pain. There is no need for any organization or board that stirs up unrest among people, he added.
Bhadraanandji called for addressing the Munambam issue with justice, fairness, and compassion. He urged authorities to prioritize the relief and justice for the 614 families affected. He noted that while most are from the Latin Catholic community, around 200 families belong to the Ezhava, Dheevara, and Kudumbi communities. He emphasized that this should not be seen as a concern of a specific community alone, but rather a national issue. “All those suffering are our own brothers and sisters,” he concluded, urging officials to act impartially and uphold justice in addressing the grievances of Munambam’s residents.
