Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai visited the disaster-stricken areas of rain-ravaged Wayanad. He visited those who are critically injured and hospitalized at VIMS Hospital and Meppadi Primary Health Center. He then assessed the situation with the Panchayat President and others at the Panchayat Office.
All those affected have lost their loved ones and belongings. Not only residents of Kerala but also many tourists in Wayanad have been caught in the disaster. He met a female doctor from a group from Odisha at VIMS, who is severely injured, and some members of her group are still missing. Pillai mentioned that he ensured his visit did not hinder rescue operations.
Upon hearing about the devastation in the Mundakai-Chooral Mala areas, he immediately left Goa for Wayanad, postponing official duties in Delhi. Therefore, he had to return to Delhi urgently from Kozhikode. He urged everyone to set aside differences and unite to support the victims during this time of disaster.
