Gold Prices Slip in Kerala Ahead of Akshaya Tritiya; Drops ₹1,000 per Pavan

Gold

Kochi: In a welcome dip for buyers, gold prices in Kerala have fallen by ₹1,000 per pavan, bringing the rate down to ₹1,13,080. The price of gold now stands at ₹14,135 per gram, offering some relief after recent highs.

The decline comes just a day after gold touched its peak for the month at ₹14,260 per gram. Market trends suggest that easing geopolitical tensions—especially fresh hopes of renewed talks between the United States and Iran—have influenced the drop. A fall in crude oil prices following these developments has also played a role in cooling gold rates.

However, the dip may be short-lived. Traders expect prices to climb again as demand is likely to surge ahead of Akshaya Tritiya, one of the most auspicious occasions for gold purchases, falling on April 19.

Global factors, particularly developments in West Asia, continue to heavily influence gold prices, with fluctuations in oil markets often impacting the precious metal.

Notably, the highest gold price recorded this year was ₹1,31,160 per pavan on January 29, highlighting the volatile nature of the market.
