LPG Crackdown in Kerala: PNG Users Told to Give Up Gas Cylinders Within 15 Days

Thiruvananthapuram: In a decisive step to tackle fuel supply pressure, Kerala authorities have directed households with Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to surrender their LPG cylinders within 15 days. The Civil Supplies Commissioner has also made it clear that PNG users are not allowed to take new LPG connections or refill existing ones.

This move comes amid tightening LPG supplies across the country, triggered by the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Officials say the measure is aimed at ensuring that limited LPG stocks reach households that depend solely on cylinder-based cooking fuel.

Consumers have been asked to return their LPG connections either through the official portal (https://mypngd.in
) or by contacting their respective LPG distributors directly.

The order signals stricter regulation of domestic fuel usage as authorities work to manage supply challenges and prevent shortages in the coming weeks.
