Kochi: In a significant development, the Kerala High Court has removed Vellappally Natesan from the post of General Secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP Yogam). The order came while hearing a petition filed by several individuals, including the late writer and social critic M. K. Sanu, alleging serious irregularities in the organization’s administration.
The petitioners argued that SNDP Yogam, which is registered under company law, had failed to submit its financial accounts since 2006, making the existing governing body ineligible to continue. After hearing detailed arguments, Justice T. R. Ravi ruled that Vellappally Natesan no longer had the legal eligibility to remain in the position.
The court also declared that Vice President Tushar Vellappally, President M. N. Soman, and Devaswom Secretary Arayakkandi Santhosh were not eligible to continue in their posts. All four were removed, and the court directed that a new Board of Directors be formed through a legally conducted election.
Until fresh elections are completed, the court has instructed the government to nominate directors to form a temporary board to manage the organization’s affairs. The interim board will oversee the functioning of SNDP Yogam and conduct elections in accordance with legal procedures to establish a new governing body.
