‘Women Will Not Forgive Opponents’: PM Narendra Modi Makes Strong Pitch for Women’s Quota Bill

Pm in lok sabha

New Delhi: In a powerful and politically charged speech in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly backed the Women’s Reservation Bill, calling it a “historic opportunity” to bring women into the heart of governance.

Describing the bill as a turning point in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation, Modi said true progress is not just about infrastructure, but about ensuring women have a decisive role in shaping policies and leadership.

“This is the need of the hour,” PM asserted, adding that the legislation has the potential to redefine the country’s political landscape. PM also cautioned that those who oppose women’s reservation risk facing the anger of women voters, stating bluntly that “women of the country will not forgive them.”

Urging lawmakers to rise above political divisions, the Prime Minister emphasized that the issue should not be politicized. PM called on all MPs to seize this rare opportunity to guarantee greater representation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.

Drawing comparisons, Modi pointed out that women’s reservation at the panchayat level was widely accepted, suggesting that resistance at higher levels often stems from fear of losing political ground.

Reiterating his commitment to inclusive growth, PM said leadership must focus on taking everyone forward, regardless of background.

With strong words and clear intent, the Prime Minister positioned the Women’s Reservation Bill as a landmark reform—one that could elevate India’s democratic strength and national pride.
