In a shocking revelation, Tony Antony, a businessman and a resident of Masinagudi in Tamil Nadu, has alleged that he received threatening WhatsApp calls and messages from a prisoner lodged at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru.

The inmate, identified as Alex Chandy, is reportedly behind bars on multiple serious charges, including rape, blackmail, drug trafficking, and extortion. Tony said he received the first call around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, during which the jailed accused threatened to kill him and his family and frame them in false cases. He believes that the threats are linked to his alleged support for some of Alex’s victims in filing complaints against him.

Raising concerns over security lapses, Tony claimed that the inmate enjoys unauthorised access to mobile phones, the internet, and VIP privileges inside jail, including residence in a VIP cell (No. 3). “It seems he is receiving help from within the jail itself,” Tony alleged.

Urging authorities to take swift action, Tony appealed to the Bengaluru Central Jail administration to investigate how an accused criminal could freely use digital platforms to intimidate people outside prison walls. He also sought enhanced monitoring and accountability to prevent such illegal activities from recurring inside high-security prisons.
