As Maha Kumbh 2025 witnesses an unprecedented surge of devotees, the Prayagraj administration has declared key areas as ‘No Vehicle Zones’ ahead of the Maghi Purnima Snan on February 12, 2025. The move aims to ease congestion and ensure public safety following severe traffic snarls during previous bathing events. Major routes leading to the Sangam and pathways from parking areas will be closed to regular vehicles, with only essential and emergency services permitted. These restrictions will be in effect from a day before to a day after the event, urging devotees to park at designated zones and proceed on foot. With an estimated 400 million pilgrims expected, strict crowd management measures are in place to prevent incidents like the recent Mauni Amavasya Snan stampede. Authorities have advised attendees to follow the official traffic guidelines for a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience.
