Final Countdown in Kerala: Silent Campaign Ends as State Gears Up for Crucial Polling Day

Election 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala stands on the brink of a decisive moment as the state prepares to cast its votes tomorrow. With the high-voltage campaign coming to a close after three intense weeks, today marks the silent campaign period—candidates’ last opportunity to connect directly with voters and secure crucial support.

Political leaders and candidates are now engaged in strategic last-minute outreach, aiming to influence voter sentiment through personal interactions. The silence in public campaigning only heightens the anticipation for Thursday’s polling, while the final results will be declared on May 4.

Voting will take place across all 140 constituencies, with 30,495 polling booths set up to facilitate smooth electoral proceedings. A total of 883 candidates are contesting in this pivotal election. Polling will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM.

Kerala has a robust electorate of 2,71,96,936 voters, including 53,984 service voters. Preparations are in full swing, with polling materials being distributed from 43 centers and around 1.46 lakh officials deployed for election duty.

Out of all polling stations, 2,040 have been identified as sensitive, prompting heightened security arrangements. Meanwhile, home voting has already reached an impressive 98% completion as of Tuesday morning, reflecting strong voter engagement ahead of the big day.

As Kerala awaits its electoral verdict, all eyes are now on the ballot boxes that will shape the state’s political future.
