Thiruvananthapuram: Bringing festive cheer ahead of Vishu, the Kerala government has announced early disbursement of welfare pensions, offering timely financial support to millions across the state.
The distribution of March’s social security and welfare fund pensions will begin on Wednesday (March 25), while April pensions are set to be rolled out starting March 31.
Each eligible beneficiary will receive a monthly pension of ₹2,000, with the government already sanctioning the required funds. Around 62 lakh people are entitled to receive the benefit.
Out of these, nearly 26.62 lakh beneficiaries will get the pension directly credited to their bank accounts. The remaining beneficiaries will receive the amount through cooperative banks, including doorstep delivery services for added convenience.
Pensions for members under various welfare boards will be distributed through their respective boards.
The Kerala government allocates approximately ₹1,050 crore every month to ensure uninterrupted pension payments, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare—especially during important festivals like Vishu.
