Thrissur: In a proud moment for the farming community, the State Animal Husbandry Department presented district-level awards to outstanding dairy and mixed farmers at a special समारोह held at the PWD Rest House Hall. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sindhu K, Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, and presided over by District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. V. M. Harris, marking a celebration of dedication and excellence in the livestock sector.
Biju T.D. from Vallachira Panchayat was honoured as the Best Dairy Farmer, receiving a cash prize of ₹20,000 along with a plaque and certificate, while Sanil Kumar from Puthur Panchayat won the Best Mixed Farmer award with ₹10,000 and recognitions. Adding to the occasion, Sruthi A.S. (Indian Vartha Channel – Krishiyidam) was felicitated for her contribution to farm documentation. The ceremony was attended by senior officials including Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Isaac Sam and other department representatives, highlighting the government’s continued support for progressive farmers.
