Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have recorded another decline, offering relief to jewellery buyers and investors. The price of gold fell by ₹360 per sovereign (8 grams) on Monday, bringing the rate down to ₹1,16,720 per sovereign.
The price per gram also decreased by ₹45, with gold now priced at ₹14,590 per gram in the state.
With this latest drop, gold prices have reached their lowest level so far this month. Over the past few weeks, the market has witnessed significant fluctuations due to uncertainties in the international gold market.
Earlier this month, the highest price recorded was ₹1,26,920 per sovereign on the first day of the month. The earlier surge in prices was largely attributed to rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia. However, as global conditions began to stabilize, prices started easing in the local market.
Market observers note that continued global developments could keep gold prices volatile in the coming days.
