Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have fallen once again, offering relief to buyers across the state. The price of gold dropped by ₹760 per sovereign (8 grams) on Saturday, bringing the rate down to ₹1,17,080.
The per gram price also declined by ₹95, with gold now priced at ₹14,635 per gram.
This marks the lowest gold price recorded in the state so far this month, following weeks of fluctuations driven by uncertainties in the international market.
On Friday, prices had already fallen twice in a single day. By afternoon, gold rates had slipped by ₹400, bringing the price to ₹1,17,840 per sovereign. In total, the price dropped ₹1,120 in one day.
Earlier this month, on March 1, gold had touched ₹1,26,920 per sovereign, the highest rate in recent days. Analysts say the earlier surge was linked to tensions in West Asia, while the latest decline reflects changes in global market conditions.
