Kochi: The city is gearing up for a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) showdown at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor, with special traffic arrangements set to be enforced to manage the expected surge of football fans. Authorities have announced that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter city limits on match day. Vehicles arriving from West Kochi and Vypin should park along Chathiyath Road, while those from Paravur, Thrissur, and Malappuram are directed towards parking areas near Aluva and Container Road. Visitors from eastern regions including Idukki, Kottayam, and Perumbavoor must use parking facilities in Tripunithura and Kakkanad, and those coming from Alappuzha should park in Kundannoor and Vyttila. After 5 PM, vehicles traveling from Ernakulam towards Edappally, Cheranalloor, Aluva, and Kakkanad will be diverted via Kaloor Junction through Pottakuzhi–Mamangal Road, BTS Road, and Elamakkara Road, while traffic heading to Ernakulam from these areas must use the Vyttila Junction–SA Road route. Adding to the excitement, Metro services will be extended until 11:30 PM to ensure smooth and convenient travel for fans after the high-voltage match. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and plan their travel in advance as Kochi prepares for a night of football fervour.
