Kochi: Satellite news channel M5 Live has strengthened its editorial leadership with the appointment of two highly respected media veterans—R. Ajith Kumar as Editor-in-Chief and G. K. Suresh Babu as News Director. The appointments were formally announced at a ceremony held at the corporate office of Prajna News LLP in Kochi. The appointment letters were handed over by Chief Executive Officer P. R. Somadev, along with a symbolic gift—a copy of Mahatma Gandhi’s “The Story of My Experiments with Truth.”
Unveiling the channel’s vision, CEO Somadev said M5 Live will launch in Kerala under the campaign “Journalism Through Experienced Hands.” He pointed out that the growing trend of sensationalism and profit-driven competition in visual media has diluted journalistic values, adding that Kerala deserves responsible, experience-led journalism. M5 Live, he said, aims to restore credibility and depth to television news.nThe channel’s operations are being developed under the patronage of noted industrialist R. Premkumar.
With over three and a half decades of experience in the media industry, both appointees bring formidable expertise. R. Ajith Kumar has previously served as CEO of Mangalam Daily, Managing Director of Mangalam News Channel, and CEO of News Malayalam. G. K. Suresh Babu has held key leadership roles including Chief Editor of Janam TV, News Chief of Amrita TV, and several senior editorial positions at Mathrubhumi.
The ceremony was attended by senior executives and media professionals, including N.
