The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of rising temperatures in Kerala, with an increase of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius expected. Except for hilly regions, hot and humid weather is likely to persist across the state until tomorrow.
A yellow alert has been issued in 11 districts due to soaring temperatures. In Thrissur and Palakkad, the mercury may reach 38°C, while Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod could see temperatures rising to 37°C. Alappuzha and Malappuram are expected to record 36°C.
On Tuesday, Palakkad recorded the highest temperature in the state at 38.3°C. Although isolated summer showers are expected in some areas, the IMD has also issued an advisory to be cautious of ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure.
