Venugopal confirmed that the party had engaged in discussions with Tharoor on the matter. Tharoor has informed the party that he will amend his stance if more accurate data on the subject comes to light.
Venugopal stated that the party does not wish to extend the debate further, and he reiterated that there is no dissent among Congress leaders on this issue. The article, published in The New Indian Express, had sparked discussions on the progress of Kerala’s industrial sector, with Tharoor emphasizing positive aspects of its growth. However, some within the party had raised concerns regarding the data and its representation of the state’s business environment.
Venugopal concluded by stressing that the Congress party believes in focusing on the positives across all political spheres, whether they stem from the state or central government.
