New Delhi: In a major digital disruption, YouTube—one of the world’s most popular video streaming platforms—experienced a widespread outage that left millions of users unable to access content for several hours. The primary issue reported was the failure of the home page to load, effectively blocking users from streaming videos.
The technical glitch impacted not only the main YouTube platform but also associated services including YouTube Music and YouTube Kids. Users across multiple countries, including India and the United States, reported disruptions. In the U.S. alone, nearly 283,490 users were affected during the peak of the outage.
After about an hour, the home page was restored, but the company confirmed that efforts were ongoing to fully resolve the issue. In an official statement, YouTube acknowledged the technical problem, stating that videos were not displaying properly across its platforms and assured users that teams were working to fix the glitch completely.
As one of the most widely used video platforms globally, the outage caused significant inconvenience, highlighting the scale of reliance on digital streaming services worldwide.
