Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cabinet, in its meeting held on October 22, 2025, approved a series of major welfare and administrative reforms aimed at supporting long-neglected communities and public sector employees.

A key highlight of the decisions is the Cabinet’s nod to provide financial aid to 1,031 Endosulfan victims from Kasaragod district, who were identified in the initial medical and field surveys but later excluded from the final official list. This long-awaited decision comes as a relief to hundreds of families affected by the toxic pesticide, many of whom have been demanding justice and compensation for years.

The move follows renewed protests by Endosulfan-affected families, who alleged delays and omissions in disbursal. The state government has now directed the district collector of Kasaragod to begin processing the payments immediately, ensuring that the excluded victims finally receive their due support.

In another major step, the Cabinet approved the 11th salary revision for employees of the Kerala State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation and for staff of the LBS Centre for Science and Technology and its affiliated institutions. The pay revision will be applicable retrospectively from July 2019 and aims to address long-pending discrepancies left unresolved by the 10th revision. The employer’s contribution to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) will remain unchanged for now.

By combining both welfare and administrative measures in a single meeting, the Kerala government has reaffirmed its commitment to social justice, employee welfare, and inclusive development.
