K. Surendran and Anil Antony Appointed BJP National Secretaries
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Kerala leaders K. Surendran and Anil K. Antony as National Secretaries as part of a major organisational reshuffle announced by party president Nitin Nabin on Monday.
The appointments are part of the BJP’s new national team, with 16 leaders named as National Secretaries. Surendran and Antony are among the prominent leaders from Kerala included in the new organisational structure.
The reshuffle also includes major changes at the top levels of the party organisation. Former Union Minister Smriti Irani and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb have been appointed National General Secretaries, while former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and senior leader Ram Madhav are among the new National Vice Presidents.
For Kerala BJP, the elevation of Surendran and Antony to key national organisational positions is significant. Surendran, who has previously served as the BJP’s Kerala state president, will now take on a wider organisational role at the national level.
Anil Antony, son of veteran Congress leader A.K. Antony, joined the BJP in 2023 and was subsequently appointed a National Secretary and National Spokesperson. He has been involved in the party’s national-level political activities and has also handled organisational responsibilities in northeastern states.
The new appointments take effect immediately, according to the BJP’s organisational announcement.
