Temp 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is reeling under intense heat as temperatures surge well above normal, prompting authorities to issue a yellow alert in multiple districts. The India Meteorological Department has warned that Palakkad could scorch at 40°C, while Kollam is likely to see temperatures climb to 39°C, making them the hottest spots in the state.

Several other districts—including Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode—may record highs of 38°C, while Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod could reach 37°C. Even the capital, Thiruvananthapuram, is expected to experience a sweltering 36°C.

With temperatures rising 3–4°C above seasonal averages, the сочетание of heat and high humidity is set to trigger extremely uncomfortable weather, particularly in lowland regions. Residents are urged to remain cautious, stay well-hydrated, and limit outdoor exposure during peak daytime hours as the state endures this oppressive heat spell.
