New Delhi: In a fresh jolt to consumers and businesses, fuel prices across India have witnessed a steep hike, driven by ongoing supply constraints and global tensions.

The cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹195.50, taking the price to ₹2,078.50 in New Delhi. In Thiruvananthapuram, the revised price now stands at ₹1,912. The hike, effective from today, is expected to significantly impact hotels and restaurants already facing financial strain. Notably, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged, offering some relief to households.

Fuel prices have also gone up, with Indian Oil Corporation increasing rates of premium variants. XP100 petrol has jumped by ₹11, rising from ₹149 to ₹160 per litre, while Diesel Extra Green has been marginally increased to ₹92.99 from ₹91.49.

The surge comes amid fuel supply disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia, raising concerns over inflation and adding pressure on multiple sectors of the economy.
