Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is set to experience intense heat conditions, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a high-temperature warning valid until Thursday. As part of precautionary measures, a yellow alert has been declared in 12 districts across the state. Temperatures are expected to soar up to 38°C in Palakkad and Kollam, while several central and northern districts including Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode may record highs of 37°C. In southern districts like Thiruvananthapuram, the mercury could rise to 36°C, which is 2–3°C above normal levels.
The combination of rising temperatures and high humidity is likely to result in extremely hot and uncomfortable weather, particularly in non-hilly regions. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant, limit exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related health issues as the state continues to reel under scorching conditions.
