Kerala Tourism Soars to Historic High in 2025; Visitor Count Crosses 2.58 Crore

Kerala has etched a new chapter in its tourism story, welcoming a record-breaking 2,58,80,365 visitors in 2025, the highest ever in the state’s history. Fresh data released by Kerala Tourism shows an impressive surge of 28,95,002 more tourists compared to 2024, reflecting the sector’s powerful upward momentum.

Domestic tourism witnessed a 12.64% rise, while overall arrivals stand 36.3% higher than pre-pandemic levels — a strong signal of Kerala’s full-fledged comeback on the global travel map. International arrivals also climbed significantly, with 8,21,999 foreign tourists visiting the state in 2025, marking an 11.33% increase from the previous year.

Tourism Minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas credited the milestone to proactive government initiatives and strategic marketing efforts. He thanked stakeholders and visitors for their continued trust and support, emphasizing that innovative projects such as Responsible Tourism and caravan tourism have played a vital role in boosting Kerala’s appeal.

The record numbers highlight Kerala’s resilience and growing global charm, reaffirming its status as one of India’s most sought-after travel destinations.
