The scheme offers ₹1,000 per month to beneficiaries aged 35 to 60 years who are not covered under any social security pension programme.

The scheme will be inaugurated at 11.30 am at the Shanthamoola Ground in Malayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram. In the first phase, the government has allocated ₹105.87 crore, with funds to be directly credited into the bank accounts of 10,58,752 beneficiaries. Officials said 15,88,267 applications have been received so far. The Women Security Scheme was announced on October 29 alongside the Connect to Work Scholarship, which came into effect on January 20, providing ₹1,000 each to 10,000 youths in its initial phase to support job-seeking efforts.
