Air connectivity between Kochi and Lakshadweep received a major boost on Tuesday with the launch of a new flight service by Fly91. The Kochi–Agatti service, operated by the Malayali-owned airline, will run daily, except on Thursdays, offering greater convenience to passengers travelling to the island archipelago.
With this launch, Fly91 becomes the third airline to operate on the Kochi–Agatti route, joining IndiGo and Alliance Air. IndiGo currently runs daily services on the sector, while Alliance Air also operates regular flights.
According to the schedule, the flight from Agatti will depart at 9:30 am and arrive at Kochi International Airport at 10:50 am. The return flight will take off from Kochi at 11:20 am and reach Agatti at 12:45 pm. Services on Thursdays will begin from the 12th of this month.
The entry of Fly91 is aimed at strengthening air links to the Lakshadweep islands and improving accessibility for residents, tourists, and business travellers. Aviation officials said the additional service will ease travel demand and provide passengers with more choice and flexibility.
The new flight is expected to play a key role in boosting tourism and enhancing economic and social connectivity between the mainland and the Lakshadweep island group.
