Kayamkulam: Hailing Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar as the embodiment of a compassionate and tolerant form of secularism, Gokulam Gopalan, Chairman of the Gokulam Group of Companies and a prominent leader of the Sree Narayana movement, said Musliyar’s life and work stand as a powerful example of religious harmony translated into social action.
Speaking after presenting the prestigious ‘Sree Narayana Sahodarya Award’, instituted by the Swami Saswathikananda Cultural Centre, Gokulam Gopalan said Kanthapuram Musliyar has never confined the ideals of communal harmony and social unity to speeches alone, but has consistently lived them through his actions. The award was presented at the reception meeting of the Kerala Yatra organised by the Kerala Muslim Jamaath in Kayamkulam.
Gokulam Gopalan noted that Musliyar’s contributions in fostering dialogue, friendship, and mutual understanding among different religious communities are rare and invaluable. Gokulam Gopalan said Musliyar’s leadership reflects a sincere effort to transform Sree Narayana Guru’s timeless message — “One Caste, One Religion, One God for humankind” — into a tangible social reality.
At a time when divisive tendencies based on religion and identity are intensifying, Kanthapuram Musliyar emerges as a leader who upholds Guru’s vision that human beings must be recognised first as human beings, Gokulam Gopalan added.
Gokulam Gopalan also observed that while extremist elements may exist in every community, branding or isolating them is not the solution. Instead, Gokulam Gopalan said, society must work to reform such elements through awareness and the values of peace and brotherhood, while firmly rejecting attempts to create artificial divisions based on caste, religion, or politics.
Describing Musliyar’s work as a continuation of Sree Narayana Guru’s vision of humanism and social harmony, Gokulam Gopalan said the Sahodarya Award is a recognition of these enduring contributions.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent political and cultural figures, including AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Minister P. Prasad, and former MP A.M. Arif, among others.
