Republican Party of India (Athawale) state working president R.C. Rajeev Das branded Kerala Transport Minister Ganesh Kumar as the “destroyer of the Left government,” accusing him of driving the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) towards collapse.

Rajeev Das alleged that the minister is targeting CPM supporters under the guise of reform, while in reality, KSRTC is sinking deeper into financial crisis. “Ganesh Kumar boasts of revenue growth, but his reckless purchase of thousands of buses has only created heavy liabilities. This is part of a larger agenda to weaken and privatize KSRTC,” Rajeev Das charged.

Pointing to poor facilities, Das said commuters are forced to use unhygienic bus stand toilets, while new buses lack functional WiFi and charging ports. “Instead of solving issues, Ganesh Kumar is pocketing commissions. He turns a blind eye to the pathetic state of KSRTC infrastructure,” Rajeev Das added.

Highlighting safety concerns, Rajeev Das claimed that women traveling at night are not given adequate protection under the minister’s leadership. He further asserted that a social audit would reveal widespread resentment among KSRTC employees against minister.

Rajeev Das also hit out at the minister’s controversial suggestion encouraging people to throw used water bottles onto public roads. “A minister who cannot even provide free, clean toilet facilities at bus stands is promoting public nuisance. Such unlawful remarks send a dangerous message to society,” Rajeev Das said.

Concluding his remarks, Rajeev Das alleged that Ganesh Kumar’s actions stem from political vengeance against the Left government and warned that his mismanagement is pushing KSRTC towards destruction.
