Thiruvananthapuram: The 79th Independence Day turned into a heartfelt celebration of patriotism and progress as the Gokulam Group paid rich tributes to India’s freedom fighters and renewed its commitment to nation-building.
Extending greetings to the nation, Chairman Gokulam Gopalan honoured the sacrifices of the brave who fought for India’s independence and hailed Mahatma Gandhi’s tireless struggle. “Independence is every citizen’s right and duty — today is the day to pledge to protect it and drive the nation forward,” he said. He urged citizens to stand united beyond linguistic and cultural diversity, while calling on the youth to lead in education, public service, technology, healthcare, industry, and agriculture, and to fight corruption and poverty to make India a model for the world.
Healthcare Vision for the Future
Dr. K. K. Manojan, Vice Chairman of Sree Gokulam Health Care Institution, emphasised the group’s longstanding role in making quality healthcare affordable for all. He announced new ventures in healthcare and medicine, with Managing Director Dr. Sheeja G. Manojan highlighting the institution’s focus on women’s welfare.
Flag Hoisting, Parades, and Cultural Festivities
At Sree Gokulam Medical College and GG Hospital, the Independence Day celebrations featured flag hoisting, ceremonial parades, and cultural performances by students and staff. The events were led by Dean Dr. P. Chandramohan, Principal Dr. Nandini, Dr. Lalitha Kailas, Dr. Krishna, Lt. Col. Prof. Meera Pillai, Prof. Sulaja, Prof. Saritha S, Riju S. S., Salim Porettam, Mannanam Suresh, and Sreehari, among other dignitaries.
