Kottayam: Mannanam Suresh, senior leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and National President of the Lohia Karma Samiti and Socialist Alliance Forum, has issued a strong appeal to both the Central and State governments to take immediate corrective steps to address critical flaws in the construction of National Highway 66 in Kerala.
Calling NH-66 a lifeline for Kerala’s future, Suresh emphasized that the massive infrastructure project should be executed without political bias and with a laser-sharp focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery. He highlighted growing concerns over recurring landslides and traffic snarls and demanded urgent high-level discussions to fast-track solutions.
“The people of Kerala have high hopes for NH-66. This is not the time for blame games or delays,” Suresh stated. He also urged strict monitoring of construction contractors to ensure full transparency and adherence to the highest standards, backed by expert technical oversight.
Labeling the highway a symbol of Kerala’s progress, Suresh said it must be treated as a national priority. “Let’s complete NH-66 with the urgency and precision of a wartime mission. It’s more than a road—it’s Kerala’s gateway to a stronger, safer future,” he asserted.
