RPI National Secretary General Dr. Rajeev Menon Extends Congratulations
New York: In a landmark recognition of one of India’s greatest social reformers, the City of New York has officially declared April 14 — the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar — as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Day. This historic proclamation was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale.
Dr. Athawale, who serves as the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and President of the Republican Party of India (RPI), played a key role in initiating and facilitating the recognition.
Dr. Rajeev Menon, National Secretary General of the RPI, lauded the development and extended warm congratulations to Dr. Athawale on behalf of himself and the entire RPI community. He described the proclamation as a significant and symbolic gesture that marks international acknowledgment of Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong mission for social justice, equality, and human rights.
The 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar was commemorated with special events at the United Nations Headquarters. The official announcement of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Day was made by Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of International Affairs at the New York City Mayor’s Office.
Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale delivered the keynote address during the commemorative event, highlighting Dr. Ambedkar’s global legacy and his relevance in today’s world.
