kochi: South Indian R Vinod, General Secretary of Sahodara Dharma Vedi and official General Secretary candidate of SNDP Yogam, has called for the removal of Vellappally Natesan from the chairmanship of the Renaissance Committee. He criticized Vellappally, the former General Secretary of the Yogam, as a person unworthy of even uttering the word ‘renaissance.’ Vinod was speaking at the inauguration of a one-day workshop held at the South Indian Jewel Tower in Vavvakkavu.
He stated that Vellappally’s daily statements are a farce intended to keep the Pinarayi government under his control. In the past, Vellappally has manipulated successive governments to protect his own interests. He has managed to keep governments under his influence by spreading communal venom at every opportunity. Vinod accused Vellappally of making anti-Muslim speeches to maintain his grip on Pinarayi. He further stated that Vellappally’s actions undermine the secularism of Guru Devan. The community cannot accept the divisive actions of leaders within the Sree Narayana movement who promote communalism.
The event was presided over by Adv. R. Ajantha Kumar. Official President candidate D. Rajeev, Vice President candidate Arun Mayyanad, V.P. Dasan Kannur, and Thirumpadi Chandran also conveyed their best wishes at the meeting. Radhakrishnan Elampadath delivered the welcome address, and Kandaloor Sudheer expressed the vote of thanks.
